Continue reading and find tips and enjoy Discount Deals for Thanksgiving dinner.
An important part for most families is the turkey. However, a turkey can be expensive and costs not less than a dollar per pound. Before buying a turkey, you should search for the best deal in your local shopping store ads offering discounts. Ads come up on Wednesdays on newspapers but if you missed it, you can look for ads found online. Just in my local shopping store, I have several deals to choose from.
In a grocery store in my area, if you buy $25 worth of grocery items, they will offer you a turkey for $0.37 per pound. I had bought my 12 pound turkey for only four and a half dollars. You may now freely adjust how many pounds of turkey you wish to buy depending on the number of your guests without worrying too much on the price. A pound of turkey per guest may be just right. Other stores offer a free turkey if you buy $100 worth of other items. You will never know these wonderful deals if you will not look for the ads yourself and search for good deals and make comparisons in your local stores.
Veggies are necessary in every meal, and even in Thanksgiving dinner. Another local shopping store offered a $0.50 a can if you buy 11 for one type of item. I bought myself 33 cans for stockpiling because of the great deal. They also have cranberries and cranberry sauce on sale for around $0.49 a can, stuffing on sale for $0.80 a box, and cream of mushroom soup and chicken broth on sale for .50 a can. That right there covers the majority of our Thanksgiving dinner. I still either have to buy rolls to bake if I can find them on sale or my husband will whip up a batch.
Dessert is also special at our Thanksgiving dinner. Almost every store ad I looked at had pies on sale. Some had a free pie when you bought ice cream and others had pies on sale for $2.00-3.00. If you can find pie filling and pie crust on sale feel free to bake one yourself, but for us it’s better to spend $3.00 on a store bought pie. To make the sale even better I also have a pie coupon. It’s the little savings in life that get me excited.
Keep in mind that Thanksgiving doesn’t have to destroy your budget. If you plan ahead, buy foods that are on sale, get a deal on your turkey, and even consider asking guests to bring a side dish or dessert, you may have the chance to save lots of dollars for future needs. As with any family get together, it’s not how much you spend, but the quality time you spend together and the memories that are made that are important.
